She was an awesome music teacher, choir director, and pianist. We worked together at McNair Middle School where I taught orchestra. I am also from Michigan. I just talked to her maybe a few months before she passed. I missed the announcement altogether and learned about her transition at a funeral over a week ago. May she rest in peace, paradise, and power in Heaven.

Mrs. Hoskins was my first choir director at True Light Baptist Church. She was always in teaching mode I learned so much from her as a child. My first exposure to the Delta's was from an event that she took a few of us to along with her daughter and it made a lasting impact. My condolences to the family.

My first remembers of meeting Mrs. Hoskins was at the age of 10 when my mother sent me to her for voice lessons. Mrs. Hoskins to say the least nurtured my focal training to include having me involved in the University of Michigan Statewide Choir, Touring Europe with the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp international choir along with sending me to the University of Kanas for Classical Music training when I was only in Middle School. To say that Mrs. Hoskins played a pivotal part in my musical career didn´t end there as she continued to be a lifelong mentor and friend for over 50 years. To honor her I named my last daughter after her as a tribute of my love for her. Mother Hoskins will be truly missed my so many. I send condolence from the Kilgore/Cobbs family.
