Many profs at Fort Hays helped launch my career in history but none more than Norman. He showed me a world I wanted to be part of, and I have been there for 35 years. I'll miss his steadfast support, friendship, and intellect. Sympathies to Maria and Margarita.

I passed many hours in dialog with Norm about history, the state of the world, Kent State and the antiwar movement, and many other topics. He will be missed -- deepest condolences to all.
