Peter Lorenz Obituary

Peter Clark Lorenz

Concord, NH - Peter Clark Lorenz, age 76, died at home with his wife at his side on September 9, 2024. He was born on September 28, 1947 to Harold R. Lorenz and Helen (Graves) Lorenz.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, his older brother, Harold R. Lorenz, Jr., and his son, Daniel Edward Lorenz. He is survived by his sister Kathleen Lorenz Peterson of Yuba City, CA; brother Christopher R. Lorenz of Yuba City, CA; brother Eric R. Lorenz and his wife, Janet, of Bedford, NH; and sister-in-law Joan Lorenz of Goffstown, NH. On his wife's side of the family, he is survived by his brother-in-law Donald R. Sipe and his wife, Mary, of Francestown, NH; sister-in-law Patricia L. Sipe of Florence, MA; brother-in-law, William C. Sipe and his wife, Carol, of Concord, NH. He is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and their children.

After graduating high school at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH, at age seventeen, Peter enlisted in the army and served in Vietnam. When he came home, he worked in manufacturing, spending most of his career at Sprague Electric Company in Nashua, N.H. Peter also earned an associates' degree at New Hampshire Technical School and a Bachelor's degree in computers and management from Franklin Pierce College.

Peter married Nancy L. Sipe, on November 26, 1978, a union which lasted 46 years until his death. After their marriage, the couple quickly settled in Concord, where they lived the rest of Peter's life. They adopted a son, Daniel Edward Lorenz, who died from complications of Leukemia at age 13.

Peter, a homebody, loved to putter in his yard and watch old movies and sports on TV. He listened to oldies on the radio while driving his beloved truck. He was well known for his infectious laugh. He was happily settled in his home in Concord. He was steady, dependable and loved to help others. He enjoyed having dogs and cats and watching turkeys, squirrels and bunnies in his yard. Peter will be cremated and buried in the family plot in East Concord.

There will be no calling hours or church service. A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date. Because of his service in Vietnam, Peter will be buried with military honors.

Instead of flowers, donations can be made to Granite State Visiting Nurses, Pope Memorial SPCA, or Immanuel Community Church, all located here in Concord.

Dear Nancy,
Peter was the first neighbor that our daughter met when she moved into the neighborhood- how sweet he was to plow her driveway- such a helpful, kind man. I so admire your devotion to Peter as his health worsened. You are such a loving person and hopefully you will let your family and friends help you carry your grief. Love you
