Elizabeth M. Philbrick
NEWMARKET – Elizabeth M. Philbrick, formerly of Wentworth, NH, passed away on December 12, 2024 due to complications from heart disease. She was born in Jersey City, NJ, on October 21, 1940, to James N. Pope, Sr. and Rebecca W. (Oglesby) Pope. After spending her early years in Mountain Lakes, NJ, the family relocated to Thornton, NH, where Elizabeth later met her future husband, Leslie W. Philbrick. The couple married in 1966 and settled in South Wentworth, NH, where Elizabeth became known for her warmth and generosity, earning the affectionate nickname "Mom P" from her children's friends.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, two brothers, and her youngest daughter, Mary. She is survived by her children: Becca (Lex) Buzzell, Marilyn (Eric) Flanders, Sue (Mark) Ober, and Thomas (Erin) Philbrick; her brother Robert "Ralph" (Marilyn) Pope; her eight grandchildren and many extended family members. A memorial service will be held at Mayhew Funeral Home

My grandfather roomed at Princeton with Liz´ dad, James Pope. My grandparents became close friends with Becky and Jim and I remember lovely meals in Thornton. Our thoughts are with your family. Liz sounded very special.
