I knew Mike through his work as the D.A.R.E. officer at Smith Middle School. I was on the staff at Smith and Mike was widely respected. The fifth grade students loved his presentations and involvement. I was teaching 8th grade history and Mike spoke to the students about the Constitution and the law. I also respect him for his service as a Vietnam veteran. A truly good person.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mike through work. We both worked for the city of Vandalia. He worked for the PD & I was working at the court. He always had a smile on his face no matter what. Was professional in every way. We shared a lot of laughs. My deepest condolences to his family.
