Donald Joseph Fortin

Mason, NH - Donald J. Fortin, 72, of Mason, NH, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was born, August 27, 1952, in Lowell, MA to his parents Roland and Theresa (Letourneau) Fortin.

Donald was a true outdoorsman. Hunting was his passion, and he enjoyed fishing as well. He loved being outside, even if it just meant he was cutting wood. The time he spent best was either in the woods and being up at his camp in Rangley, ME.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marie (Paquette) Fortin, of Mason, NH; his son Stephen Fortin and his partner Wendy Maynard of New Ipswich, NH; his daughter Danielle Aho and her husband Scott of Greenfield, NH; his sisters Priscilla Brostek and her husband William of Nashua, NH, Denise Desmarais and her husband Albie of Dracut, MA; his grandchildren Sierra Aho, Evan Aho, Joseph Fortin, Emma Fortin; his father-in-law Roland Paquette in Pelham, NH. He is also survived by his two beloved dogs, Sophie and Hunter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Donald's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at https://www.alz.org/ or to NH Fish and Game at https://www.wildlife.nh.gov/.
