Gay Pinkston Obituary

Gay Sheive Pinkston was born September 4, 1954, in Scully, TX, and passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Clarksdale, MS. She had the most contagious smile, so selfless, and loved her family more than anything. Gay was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her children and grandbabies with all her heart. Although she only had 2 children, she was the "bonus momma" of all their friends and cousins. Every soul she encountered she loved with her all, no matter what. Her love was true and unconditional. She was the safe place, the easy one to ask for advice, for everyone who loved her. Gay looked forward to meeting our father God and his Holy Son Jesus Christ in heaven. She died at peace knowing she was saved, with God and his son Jesus in her heart and going to meet them. Her desire was to be remembered in love, for the way she loved everyone around her. Surviving relatives include her husband of 43 years Jonathan Dane Pinkston Sr., children Jonathan Dane Pinkston Jr., (Wife Emily Pinkston), Robin Pinkston Rath, (Husband and Son #2 Brandon Rath), Grandchildren, Alivia and Amelia Pinkston(twins), Riley Rath. Elijah, Gabriella, Juliet, and Violet Johnson. Preceded in death by her father Robert Daniel Sheive, mother Gladys Slaughter, sister Darlene Sheive Dulek, brothers Bobbie and Ronnie Sheive, several adored in-laws, and many friends and loved ones, warming her seat in Heaven. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Lyon Baptist Church with Brother Joel Stroud officiating.
