Born December 21, 1925 to James and Amelia Saint in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Our beloved, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Betty, passed away peacefully in her home on July 6, 2025. She is survived by her children, Marg and Jack Kruse of Leverett, Rus and Pat Wilson of Shutesbury, and Becky and Art Torres of Shutesbury; her grandchildren, Stasi and Jeff Kanyuck of Joppa, Maryland, Selilah and Josh Kalev of Torrance, California, Henry Wilson of Shutesbury, Tani Wilson of Greenfield, Sam and Liz Torres of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, and Ben Torres of Shutesbury; her great-grandchildren, Hannah Kruse-Kanyuck of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, Taiya Anaya of Lawrence, Massachusetts, Tim Anaya of Greenfield, Noa Kalev of Torrance, California, Jacob Kalev of Torrance, California and Michael Torres of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania; and her great-great-grandson, Cael Kruse-Kanyuck of Joppa, Maryland.

Betty's education started in Erie, PA where she attended elementary and junior high school. The family moved to Fairview, PA where she met her husband Fred Wilson, and graduated high school. Betty attended Maryville College where she received a bachelor's degree in religious education. Upon graduation she was hired as director of religious education at a Presbyterian Church in Auburn, IN.

Betty and Fred were married in Erie, PA on August 31st, 1949. They spent ten years (1950-1960) in Iran as Fraternal Workers (missionaries) for the Presbyterian Church. Upon settling in Glen Rock, NJ in 1960, Betty focused on homemaking and volunteer work until her children flew the nest. Between the years of 1974 and 1988 Betty worked as administrative assistant in the Glen Rock Community Church and then for the director of Church Women United.

In 1989 Betty and Fred "retired" to Leverett, MA. Betty soon went back to work first as administrative assistant at the Hadley Congregational Church and then at First Congregational Church of Amherst. When she truly retired, she enjoyed volunteering with Round the World Women.

Betty loved to sing and always sang in the church choir-wherever she was. In Leverett she also found great joy singing in the Leverett Community Chorus.

A celebration of her life will be held at the First Congregational Church in Leverett at 10:30 am on July 26th, 2025 with a luncheon reception to follow.
