Sgt Bass, today my fond thoughts and happy memories are with you and with your family there in New York. The gravity of your loss is only mitigated by the impact you had on those who knew you. Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Aram, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

To the family of Aram J. Bass:
My name is Haley Galloway, I am a student at Sumner High School. We had an assembly about honoring Veterans. I didnt take it seriously at the time it was just a ticket out of class. I don't take alot of school activities seriously since I'm a lazy student. As the assembly went on and I stopped talking to my friends I started feeling horrible. Here I was taking everything the soldiers did for our country for granted. Not caring. I am so lucky to have these rights people died fighting for. I am really sorry for your loss. He must have been an amazing man willing to die for what he believes in. I can't even imagine what you went through. I hope you are well.
Lots of love,

Breanne,
I was reading Aram's Guest Book, and I was deeply moved. Our God really does "...move in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform..." I see the hand of God in all that transpired with regard to Aram coming hom to marry you and God making sure that all was well before He called Aram home!
We never know what God will call on us to endure in our lives. Life at its longest is short, but He shared Aram with you and those memories are to be treasured!
I have been in the Ministry since 1979 and have dealt with a great deal of death. I have learned NEVER to question God because HE IS GOD! In 2004 God blessed me with a "personalized" tape ministry for our troops. I consider it an honor to do what I do. There are not enough hours in a day or ways to say "thank you" for the sacrifices!
I didn't know Aram but I will FOREVER "Salute" Staff Sgt Aram J. Bass!
Stay strong and encouraged! I am here for you because God requires it. He said we are to "...bear one anothers burdens thus fulfilling the laws of Christ..."
Yours in Christ,

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

Prayer will carry The Bass Family especially Breanne even though I never had the pleasure of meeting Aram I can say just knowing his brother "Woody" through my husband (safely returned from the hell on earth place called Iraq ~ pardon my other native tongue)Aram was more then just a good soldier. My thoughts and only thoughts can only feel your lost from a wife viewing window of try to be in your shoes ~ no one should say they know how you feel before the walk themself ~ only God can say how you feel or whom will carry you when times seem at a low. Just knowing what we all have gone through as another soldiers wife waiting, take comfort in knowing my heart truly feels your lost as if Aram was my brother as well as Woodys'. I will continue to pray for all people, but I will request from God to send the special Guarding Angels for you when you feel the lows over the highs for this shall pass, but memories do last forever. To the family of Staff Sgt. Bass,
My name is Debi Laderer, also from Niagara Falls. My son Sgt. David Johnson served in Iraq 2003-2004, also with the 101st out of Ft. Campbell. I feel profound sadness for the loss of each and every Soldier and Marine we lose in Iraq, but the news of the passing of Staff Sgt. Bass hit me especially hard. Aram and my son probably went to school together and knew each other as David is 24 years old. I thank the dear Lord each day that he returned safely. Although I can't possibly imagine the enormity of your grief, I certainly know the fear.
Please allow me to express my deepest sympathies for your loss. I'm sure your soldier is at peace in heaven, so I will pray for strength for his family to endure their tragic loss.
Kind regards,
