Thank you for your friendship, your desire to make sense of difficult and hard to comprehend situations. I respected the hopes and desire that made you such a selfless and very dedicated friend, brother in arms, and ranger buddy. I also thank the ones you loved most and your family that supported you so much to create the determination and desire to bring you through all you have accomplished. You have and always will be my inspiration and motivation to press on and face what come my way, and to live my life to the fullest as you had. You will never be forgotten in my lifetime.

I was awarded the Joseph W. Dimock II Memorial Scholarship at Warren Township High School this past year. I was the second person to be awarded with this scholarship and it has been a huge honor. With the scholarship I was given a memorial bracelet that I have worn everyday since. I have been able to share Joey's story with many people and am reminded of his sacrifice everyday. He has made an impact on my life, and I hope one day I can become a good of a man as he once was.

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Joseph will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .

Dear Ellen and family,
I am so sorry for your loss and wish I had had the opportunity to meet Joey. A nation is grateful to Joey and to you his family. A community holds your family close in our hearts. Please contact me if there is anything I can do for you. I know you are particularly in the thoughts and prayers of the Eldercare program.
It's no surprise Joey turned out to be such a fine young man. One has only to look to your family to understand.
Sincerely,

To the family of Joseph - My prayer is that this poem I wrote will bring you comfort. It is: FALLEN HEROES - From the time I was conceived God had for me a plan. He wanted me to get involved to help my fellow man. I know some were against it but God knows what is best and since the day He took me home I've had perfect rest. Heaven is so beautiful I'm walking streets of gold. Now I'm serving others including saints of old. I know some still have anger about the way I died yet God and I both have seen the many tears you've cried. He is a God of comfort whose love will never cease. Give your feelings to Him and He will give you peace. As difficult as it may be please don't hold a grudge. Remember this my loved ones God alone will judge. Then on that resurrection day when all the dead will rise the Lord will reunite us together in the skies. So don't give up my friends my memory is still alive. Put your trust in the Lord and I know you will survive.
Thank you Joseph for your service.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms Spc. Joseph Dimock. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Joe. And to Joe it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Joe, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,335 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Joe’s family and loved ones.

Please know how Deeply Sorry I am, to learn of the loss of Spc Joseph Dimock.
As a parent, who has lost a daughter suddenly and having lost a brother to war...
I am aware of the deep and devastating pain that you are experiencing. The overwhelming heartache, that seems to surface through our shock, as the time passes. In the days ahead, you will be going through unimaginable grief, please hang on to your Faith and know that you will get through this.
May the memories of your Brave Young Ranger, remain in your heart always and give you strength through the difficult days and may Joseph, rest safely now, in the Loving Care of God and know that he Will Never Be Forgotten.
I am the sister, of such a young Ranger, who served with the 75th Ranger Regiment and made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago.
"Treasure this Hero Lord,
In Your garden of rest...
For while here on earth,
he was one of our best"
I am sincerely hoping that you can feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the days ahead, as this Grateful Country Mourns with you, for Someone Very Precious to you, Who Is A True American Hero to all of us.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Those I Loved And To Those Who Loved Me; When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourself to me with tears, Be thankful for our beautiful years.
I gave to you my love, you can only guess, how much you gave to me in happiness, I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a time that we must part, So, bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on, So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near, All my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and say, "Welcome Home."
