My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. As I think of Greg, he and I spent a fair amount of time in our youth together. All my memories of those times are very nice. God Bless.

Death is nothing at all...
I have only slipped away to the next room...
I am I and you are you...
Whatever we were to each, that we are still.

Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak it to me in the same way you always used.
Put no difference into your tone,
Wear no false air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect, without the ghost of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolutely unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident.

I am but waiting for you for an interval
somewhere very near
Just around the corner.
All is well.

WHEN A LOVED ONE'S GONE
Those we love remain with
us, for love itself lives on.
And cherished memories
never fade because a
loved one’s gone.

Those we love can never
be more than a thought apart.
For as long as there
is memory they’ll
live on in the
heart

MY BIGGEST FEAR
My biggest fear was to lose you..
Now I’ve lost you my fear has gone.
There’s nothing left for me to fear,
I’ve lost the one I held so dear.

The worst is over, the horror is past,
The thing I feared most has happened at last,
No more do I worry, no more do I care,
Nothing can hurt when a heart isn’t there.

I’ve been through hell and survived somehow,
Nothing else can touch me now,
There’s nothing to fear of life to come,
I lost it all when I lost my son
Please Be Gentle
By Jill B. Englar
Please be gentle with me for I am grieving.
The sea I swim in is a lonely one
And the shore seems miles away.
Waves of despair numb my soul
As I struggle through each day.
My heart is heavy with sorrow.
I want to shout and scream
And repeatedly ask “why.”
At time, my grief overwhelms me
And I weep bitterly,
So great is my loss.
Please don’t turn away
Or tell me to move on with my life.
I must embrace my pain
Before I can begin to heal.
Companion me through tears
And sit with me in loving silence.
Honor where I am in my journey
Not where you think I should be.
Listen patiently to my story.
I may need to tell it over and over again.
It’s how I begin to grasp the enormity of my loss.
Nurture me through weeks and months ahead.
Forgive me when I seem distant and inconsolable.
A small flame still burns within my heart
And shared memories may trigger
both laughter and tears.
I need your support and understanding.
There is no right or wrong way to grieve.
I must find my own path.
Please, will you walk beside me?

In tears I saw you sinking,
I watched you fade away.
You suffered much in silence,
you fought so hard to stay.
You faced your task with courage.
Your spirit did not bend,
and still you kept on fighting until the very end.
God saw you getting tired.
When a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you and whispered "come to me".
So when I saw you sleeping So peaceful, free from pain.
I could not wish you back
to suffer that again.

When We See The Lord

When we lift up our eyes and see the Lord
We won't be needing this old world anymore
He will have come to gather His flock
Heaven's doors He will have unlocked

He will have come for the chosen few
He will have come for me and you
His coming will be a beautiful sight
We will be going on a Heavenly flight

We will walk upon Heaven's shores
And visit a place where Angels soar
We will travel streets of gold
For the Bible tells us so

Only the righteous will be enshrined
All others will be left behind
Let us fill our hearts and souls with Grace
And be prepared to meet Him face to face

When sorrow comes, as come it must
In God a man must place his trust
There is no power in mortal speech
The anguish of his soul to reach
No voice, however sweet and low
Can comfort him or ease the blow

He cannot from his fellow men
Take strength that will sustain him then
With all that kindly hands will do
And all that love may offer, too
He must believe throughout the test
That God has willed it for the best

We who would be his friends are dumb
Words from our lips but feebly come
We feel, as we extend our hands
That one Power only understands
And truly knows the reason why
So beautiful a soul must die

We realize how helpless then
Are all the gifts of mortal men
No words which we have power to say
Can take the sting of grief away
That Power which marks the sparrow's fall
Must comfort and sustain us all

When sorrow comes, as come it must
In God, a man must place his trust
With all the wealth which he may own
He cannot meet the test alone
And only he may stand serene
Who has a faith on which to lean

The wind's not always at our back,
The sky is not always blue.
Sometimes we crave the things we lack,
And don't know what to do.

Sometimes life's an uphill ride,
With mountains we must climb.
At times the river's deep and wide,
And crossing takes some time.

No one said that life is easy,
There are no guarantees.
So Trust in the Lord continually,
On calm or stormy seas.

The challenges we face today,
Prepares us for tomorrow.
For faith takes our fears away,
And peace replaces sorrow.
