Chester Epley Obituary

Chester "Chet" A. Epley, 70, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

He was the son of the late Frank and Dora Epley. Mr. Epley was retired from the United States Navy, and was a civil service employee at Dam Neck Naval Base.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Epley of Lawrenceville; daughters, Tammie A. Rawls and husband, Mike, of Prince George, and Dora "Elaine" Jenkins of Rawlings; a son, David A. Epley of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Michael Rawls Jr., Kelsey Jenkins and Jeffrey Jenkins; one great-grandchild, Cody Smith; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Wachsmann and husband, Donald, of Smithfield.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
