You will never be forgotten. Every year that passes memories of you flood me more. Billy and I just talked about you the other day, you always bring a smile to my face. I want you to know that I love you and you are one of the best friends a girl could ask for. I can't wait to tell my children about you and all the laughs you gave me. I love you brother

In Memory of Josph ~ (Debra Estep)
November 20, 2008
Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Josph, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Our continued thoughts and prayers out to the LISTER family,Knowing now what they have always known is one of many reasons that our HEROES shall NEVER be forgotten,In time may Micah know that our brothers name stamped in steel shall FOREVER be clutched in the tallons,And his spirit shall FOREVER soar high in the skies in the symbol of our great nation. Continue to rest well brother because as prommised that star spangled banner shall FOREVER wave,COME by NORTH--COME by SOUTH--COME by EAST--COME by WEST, We were all gathered and united on that great day as strangers,And upon those last [4] spoken words we are FOREVER BROTHERS!!! If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

My name is Ron Adkins and Jo was a friend of mine. He was my roomate for about 4 months at Fort Riley. I am very glad I was able to get to know him. I think of him often, but just stumbled upon this guest book. Jo and I were a lot alike, it was easy to be roomates with him. When I reflect upon the sacrifices made in order to have the freedoms we have, or when I hear a patriotic song, I think of Jo. I have many memories of him I cherish. May God bless his family.

I actually stumbled onto this guest book and am glad I did. I went to school with Jo and never had the oportunity to express my condolonces. Josph was always the one to put a smile on anyones face. I have heard his little one is just like him. It lights up my heart to the point of tears to know that somehow his spirit will live on. There are many people who pass through our lives. Josph is one of those special ones you dont forget!! He wanted everything good for everybody and gave his life trying. That is the passion I remember in him in everything he did. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

Rest Well Josph, in the Hands of God.

Recently Sierra and this family has received contact from yet another person that has been affected by Jo. Even through his death he has reached out and put his mark on someone. To that young man, Christian, the pilot of the plane that brought Jo home to us, we thank you for being the young man that you are.
We continue to remember. We continue to keep your memory. We continue to pray for all those lost, for those still in combat and in harms way. We are thankful for having known you and for the gift of your son.

I knew you only as "Lister". I wish I could have known you more. I just heard stories here and there from Jarrod. Your wife showed me so much kindness though. She was easy to talk to. I have 100% faith that you and Jarrod are smiling down on us from Heaven. I am sure you both are floating cloud to cloud sharing pictures of Micah and Sheridan. How we all miss you both!!!

It is hard for me to believe that it has been almost two years since Jo's death. So many things have filled up that time, but the primary and the most satisfying is that of having a hand in the raising of Jo's son and my grandson Micah. Remembering and honoring Jo is such a privilege. I see jo's physical character in the face of Micah. I see and experience Jo's exuberance and vitality for life through Micah, who exhbits the same level of energy and fire in everything he does (yes, even at 2 years of age!). Micah seems to fear nothing, challenges himself and everyone he mets to keep up with him. My life is richer and blessed because of Jo and because of Micah. We all could learn alot from just watching Micah for a day.
Thanks to all of you that have shared your hearts and memories of Jo with us. We continue to pray for all the families that have lost soldiers in this war. As we continue to pray for the return of our own soldiers from Iraq, my step-son Brian, my son-in-law Trey, we also pray for the safe return of all soldiers from Iraq, and ask that you add them to your prayers.

Hi! This is Sergeant Borawski, I was Joe's Sergeant in Iraq. I was wounded in the same attack that took his life. He was my buddy. In rememberance, I got his name tattooed on my chest. Hurt like heck to get it, but worth it! he was a strong soldier. His wife and son were #1. Especiall after Micah was born, he always showed off pictures. He had a strong sense of duty and dedication to his job. I wish the best for Sierra and Micah.
