Michael C. Barry Obituary

What an amazing man. I am so sad he had to leave, but I am so thankful for his selfless bravery. I did not know him personally, but after reading a bit about him, I know in my heart it had to be a real honor. Thank you so much for everything you did.

Dear Michael and Maria;
I am only now hearing the news about your wonderful son, Mike's passing. I am so sorry, these many years later, the wound is bound but not healed, I know. Such a fine young man, so bright, so ambitious, and obviously so brave. I am sorry he paid the ultimate price for our freedom, and his memory is honored forever. God bless you all abundantly, and with heartfelt condolences to all of you.

Mike, you are missed. We had an Eagle Heights 20-year reunion this past weekend. Although neither of us graduated from there we had a lot of good memories. Thanks for the good times.

His memory does not fade. I will never understand why Heaven needed him more than earth. There are so few like him among us today. My heartfelt prayers go up for his family on this day.......as we remember.....

God did not give Michael much time in this life but obviously he made the best of it, giving so much, demanding so little and making so many good friends along the way. I want to thank each of you for your kindness. May we all meet again...

Was thinking how it has been 9 years now. So much has happened and yet the loss is still here. We miss you Mike and look forward to one day seeing you again. Every time we pass the cemetery, we wave and tell stories about you. See you again some day. May God continue to be with your family.

Veteran's day, 2010. Many are remembering Mike today. I never even met him, but knew him through my daughters, Dorothy & Esther. I was thankful for the positive influence he had on their lives. It was terrible & unthinkable to lose him because the world so desperately needs such men. We remember.

I was very saddened to hear about the loss of Mike. I went to church with him at Countryside Baptist for a short time. He was a joy to be around and always had a smile on his face. He was a great friend to have. He will be truly missed. Your family is in my prayers!

I just wanted to let you as a family know how saddened i am to hear about the passing of a honored soldier, a good husband and one of my high school friends. I too am a radiology technologist and am in the program partially to mike, he is the one who got me interested in that years ago. I will pray for you as a family, he will be missed.

I remember Mike fondly from his days at Eagle Heights Christian School. My brother, Mike Trabue, would frequently have Mike over to our house to hang out. Your Mike was such a great friend to both of us. I am so glad to hear that he continued his strong Christian testimony into his adult life. My deepest sympathies are with your family as you make the difficult adjustments without him on this earth. God will provide the grace you need to make it through each hour. To Mike's Family:

We have never met, but would like you to know that our prayers have been offered daily since we heard that Mike was going to the Middle East to serve our country. When we heard the news that Mike had been injured, our prayers intensified that God would comfort all of you during a difficult time and that God would touch Mike during his hours of need.

Mike went to JCCC with our daughter, Minda and through their friendship, we had the opportunity to meet him. What an exceptional young man! His zest for life was obvious, even on a "bad" day.

Mike blessed us, not only with his friendship, but also by sharing his giving spirit on more than one occasion and we are all better for the time he shared with us.

Mike also took time out of his hectic schedule to "dog-sit" for us when our family went on vacation. Mike loved our 2 dogs, Cody & Trouble, and they loved him...
