Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Svitak Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in Afghanistan. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one, Philip J. Svitak US Army Sergeant. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

I had the pleasure and honor knowing Phil back when I was in high school and my dad worked on post. My parents owned a paintball business in Clarksville and we got to know Phil as a regular and he even came over to our house. Phil was an awesome guy and full of life and always had a smile on his face.

This is a special "Thank You" to all who have written heartfelt and kind words to the family of Philip Svitak. It is with great appreciation Rich and I say "Thank You" for honoring our son. He was a wonderful father, a loving husband and an awesome man who loved his "brother" NightStalkers with all his heart (and he proved it). I wish I could tell all of you about the
anguish I heard in his voice when I
finally was able to contact him on
September 11, 2001 and he said "Mom,
it is terrible - they are using our
OWN PLANES as bombs - passenger planes"
it was heartbreaking to hear him as he
knew many had died. He also told us he
would be going to Afghanistan and said
"if anything happens to me over there
please know I am proud to die for my
country". He was the flight mechanic,
crew chief and door gunner for "HIS"
Chinook Helicopter - he stood in the
open doorway and manned the mini-gun
attached there..............no place
to hide......no place to run......no
shelter to take and, with pride, he
died.......
And that day so did we - it has taken
us many years to accept the fact we no
longer will see his laughing eyes and
quirky smile. He will never be forgotten in our lifetimes and it helps to know there are many others
whose lives he has touched favorably
who remember him well also. In deepest appreciation.....

Your son will never be forgotten. He lives in the hearts and minds of all those who came in contact with him. I consider myself blessed to have known Phil if only for a short time. Phil was a great soldier who fought for the US ARMY, and Phil was a great soldier who fought for Jesus Christ.
I thank God for allowing our paths to cross in this life and I look forward to meeting Phil in the life beyond the grave, Heaven.
Thank you for my freedom.
Sincerely,
Tony Goodwin

Follow The Rainbow To Heaven.
=======================================
A Soldier had die out on the
battlefield;
Broken hearts are weeping For
Them,
But take comfort of knowing
that God had sent Them a
rainbow from heaven;
The Souls of the Soldiers
have gone to there home
in heaven,
Our Loved One's has follow
God's lovely rainbow in the
sky;
All the way to the end of the
sky.
That leads all the way to the
other end of the Lord's
house in heaven,
So just keep on praying and
trust that God will send us
that same rainbow in the sky;
Where Our Loved One's are
waiting For You and For Me at
the end of the rainbow in
heaven.

My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Philip will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
