Though I do not know the Coughlin family, know that Patrick will be missed by his military family and friends that he served with. As a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer and member of St. Agatha -I could not get near the church but got out of my car to salute as the procession when by. I'm not sure if you remember me but I was Leo's friend in high school and visited your home several times. Whenever I get back to Hingham I always think of Leo and your family while driving through Braintree. You and your family were the best, always making sure me and the rest of Leo's friends were welcomed into your home and taken care of. I am very sorry for your loss. Dear Patty, Joe and Family,
We are so deeply sorry for your loss. We know first hand what an extraordinary kid Pat was. I saw Pat a few weeks ago and he showed me the Marine flag he was going to give to my Mom. Pat had all his platoon members sign it in honor and memory of my Dad, a former Marine, who passed in October. I was overwhelmed. What an incredible gesture of kindness,thoughtfulness and respect for my Mom, Dad - our whole family. It speaks volumes to what a great son/brother you had.
Pat was a great friend to my son Anthony since their first days in Kindergarten. Pat was always there for Anthony when he needed help or advice. Pat kept things light and fun and always had a positive outlook.
Pat will be greatly missed.

We were so very sad to learn of Patrick's accident. Sometimes life is truly unfair. I can remember him as a cute little toddler sometimes making an appearance with you at Collicot School. We will hold you and all of your family very close in our thoughts and hearts and remember you in our prayers.
