Curtis Lee Dedmond

DEDMOND, Mr. Curtis Lee, age 49, of Richmond, Va. died Wednesday, August 13, 2008. He was a Corrections Officer for the Common-wealth of Virginia Department of Corrections with 30 years of service. He is survived by his daughter, Grace Dedmond of Richmond, Va.; his parents, Curtis C. and Wanda Dedmond of Farmville; his brother, Jimmy Dedmond of Farmville, Va.; his sister, Sharon Steinke of Farmville, Va.; his brother, Johnny Dedmond of Dillwyn, Va.; his nieces and nephews, Laura Dedmond, Jimmy Lee Dedmond, Jessica Steinke, Jenniffer Steinke, all of Farmville, Va.; his great-nephew, Tristan Dedmond of Farmville, Va.; and numerous cousins. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Shorter Funeral Home, 1905 S. Main Street, Farmville, Va. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Concord Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Concord Baptist Church, P.O. Box 37, Prospect, Va. 23960. The Shorter Funeral Home of Farmville, Va. is serving the family.
