EGAN, George Cornelius, 81, of Providence Forge, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2008. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. George was a longtime member of the Providence Forge Ruritans and was known for his quick wit and excellent sense of humor. George often said his secret to life was "Do a little less each day." He will be missed by many. There will be a graveside funeral service on Thursday, 11 a.m., at Washington Memorial Park in Sandston, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 5875 Bremo Rd., Suite 710, Richmond, Va. 23226, or The American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513. Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. 23140, is handling arrangements.
