Dr. Nikolaos G. Demetriadis

DEMETRIADIS, Dr. Nikolaos G., 67, of Richmond, born in Pyli, Florinis, Greece, passed away at his home, October 4, 2008. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Margarita Demetriadis; and a brother, Stefanos Demetriadis. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Shelia N. Demetriadis; a son, Stefan Demetriadis; a daughter, Margarita "Dee" Demetriadis; two brothers, Herakles Demetriadis (Athena) and Antonis Demetriadis (Melpomene); and a sister, Frederika Messinis (Evangelos). He served as a second lieutenant in the armed forces of Greece. Nick received a B.S. from the University of Athens, an M.S. from the University of Massachusetts and a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. He was a retired polymer chemist/engineer formerly with ICI Americas and Marshall Plastic Film of Allegan, Mich. His remains rest at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday with a Trisagion prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Malvern Ave. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park.
