BRADBY, Alphus F. "Bud," 78, died October 2, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Lucy V. Cotman-Bradby; and his son, Lonnie Jones; his daughter, Ethyl Williams (Alvin "Pickle") followed him in death on October 5, 2008. He is survived and dearly loved by his daughters, Kendall Black and Bonnie Rodgers (Don); sons, Douglas Jones, Charles and David White (Robin); brother, Jesse (June) Bradby; sister-in-law, Mary Allen; grandchildren, Dannette (Gregory Sr.), Devondus (Brenda), Jammie (Leithia), James E. III, Sonia, Connie, Keli, D.J., Shannon, Keisha, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Valerie, Carla and Karl; and a host of great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Remains rest J. Leroy Charity Funeral Home, Charles City, where Mr. Bradby may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. On Thursday at 11 a.m. Mr. Bradby will rest at Little Elam Baptist Church, 8840 Church Ln., Charles City, Va., where services will be held 1 p.m. Eulogists Rev. James H. Johnson Jr. and Rev. Frank M. Long. Interment church cemetery.
