WILLIAMS, Anise Newsome, 87, of Henrico, Va., died Friday, October 3, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph R. and Annie M. Newsome of Branchville, Va.; and her brother, Joseph R. Newsome Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn B. Steinbrecher and husband, Robert; son, Grover G. Barnett Jr. and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Shelia Steinbrecher, Terese Steinbrecher, James Barnett, and Kenneth Barnett; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Vick of Capron, Va., Josie Gay of Seaboard, N.C., and Erma Scott of Boykins, Va.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Anise was an entrepreneur and a woman before her time. She taught her family many lessons, the greatest of all, survival. She is remembered by all who even met her. She was a lifelong member of Eastern Star Chapter Branch Spencer #11. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Boykins Baptist Church, Boykins, Va., with interment at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, Va.
