Pat and Linda,

I thought I signed this guest book the first day it was open but I must not have completed something as I don't see the message. I've thought of you often this week. So sorry I was not able to be with you on Monday evening or Tuesday but I was committed to working the election. I hope to visit with you soon. I can only imagine how your heart is breaking, but as you and I discussed, Linda, you will get through this -- one day at a time.

Bernie and children, Pat and Linda, Someone once wrote "friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly". Donna was one of those "quiet angels" here among us at Golden Living Center - Petersburg, always thinking of us and our needs and our residents' needs instead of herself.

What an honor to have worked beside her and to have experienced her sweet soul and kind spirit.

Now she's an angel quieting watching over us from God's wonderful heavenly home. One day we will share laughter and hugs with her again and rejoice in God's grace. Deepest heartfelt sympathy to each of you and your extended family.

Bernie, Jared, Savannah, Linda, Pat, Dan, Katie, Daniel, Grandma Lucy & Grandma Matthews and I must include Sandy & Connie,
You are all so blessed to have known Donna as your wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, granddaughter & best friend. I feel most blessed to have known her as a co-worker and close friend. Seven years ago when coming to WHCC/Golden LivingCenter-Petersburg, Donna trained me for the Admissions Director position and rapidly we became close friends. Over many lunches at Jimmy's Grille, I first learned and was continuously reminded what an extraordinary woman Donna was. Although in age, she was 22 years my junior, she taught me so much about life, both in words and especially in her actions each and every day. I will always remember the obviously genuine love she had for all of you and so many of the happy stories she shared about you as her family. Linda, when you came to work with us at GLC-P, I found out then where so many of her lovely ways first originated...from you. She, like you, was always so ready to lend a helping hand to all the staff and she was our resident's best friend and #1 advocate. There's just not enough space here to tell how she has blessed my life like no other co-worker/friend ever has. Whitney summed it up so profoundly yesterday when she commented to me, "You know I think the fact that none of us having a sister has made our friendship so special ! " Those words from Whitney are engraved in my heart !!!
I will never ever forget the beauty that Donna possessed and so willingly shared with us. Her concern for us being sad about her illness and the grace she exhibited since 7-7-08 and all during her illness was phenomenal. Donna's life here on earth surely made this world a better place. God Bless your heart Donna now and forever the way you blessed mine.
Love you,
Janet Fisher Callis

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I graduated with Donna from B.A. and remember her graduation party at the hunt club. I, like so many, remember her smile and hear her laugh or giggle. She was the sweetest person. And she was smart, too. I remember when she won that car for submitting a slogan. I think it was "don't make a mountain out of a molehill" for an acne product like cleansing pads or something. She was gentle and kind. May you find the strength to face tomorrow in the love that surrounds you during this very difficult time. I know her eyes will be smiling down from heaven upon her children.

Donna was one of the sweetest people..she always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone......She always had something encouraging to say and cared about each and every person she came into contact with. I came to B.A. from another school in the 8th grade. Donna was one of the first people that i met and was so friendly and helpful. I am certain she has the prettiest smile ever and the sweetest laugh right now where she is...
