Charlotte Renn Doyle, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, just one day shy of her 85th birthday. Born on November 15, 1940, in Harnett County, NC, she was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her life was a testament to the power of education, the joy of simple pleasures, and the enduring strength of family bonds.

Charlotte's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of her hometown, where she was a 1958 graduate of Lillington High School. Her passion for learning and her desire to inspire young minds led her to East Carolina University, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education in 1962. Charlotte dedicated 25 years of her life to teaching at Bunn Elementary in Franklin County, where she touched the lives of countless students with her intelligence, loving nature, and gentle spirit.

Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, James Renn and Charlotte Lee, and her beloved sister, Jenny Summerell. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her son, James Doyle, and his wife, Kerri, her adored grandchildren, Jacob and Danielle, her niece, Heather Schlosser, her husband, Dave, and their son, Jack, and her brother-in-law, Jimmy Summerell.

Charlotte's interests were as rich and varied as the life she led. An avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of books. Her green thumb brought beauty to the world through her gardens. She shared a special bond with her sister, Jenny, as they hunted for deals and treasures, a testament to their lifelong camaraderie. Summers at Topsail Beach were a family tradition, a time for relaxation and creating memories that spanned generations. Her son Jim and his family were often her companions on vacations, where laughter and love were always in abundance.

Her home was a hub of warmth and generosity, as she gave her time and love to countless friends and neighbors. Charlotte's capacity to give knew no bounds, and her presence enriched the lives of those around her. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons remembered, and her love felt forevermore.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1pm in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after the service to share in fellowship and enjoy finger foods and drinks to honor Charlotte's life.

The family wishes to thank the staff at both Wake Med North and Wake Med, the entire staff at The Lodge in Wake Forest, and mostly the countless friends and families that shared their love and life with her.

In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Charlotte's memory to the SPCA of Wake County, www.spcawake.org.
