Barbara Della Lipnitz Hux

Barbara Della Lipnitz Hux, 74, of Edenton, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

A native of Ann Arbor, MI, Barbara was the daughter of James Lipnitz and Margaret Vokoviak Lipnitz, both deceased.

Barbara grew up in Syracuse, NY and Cherry Hill, NJ, before making her way to NC where she graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in teaching. She spent over 30 years in the education system before switching over to the tax office. She greatly enjoyed working with her clients and was the type to never meet a stranger. She loved the beach, ECU sports, and her family fiercely.

Survivors include her daughter, Sara Coffman; son, Brian Hux and wife, Yuna; granddaughter, Leah Hux; three sisters, Phyllis Musser, Dorothy DiVito, and Theresa Lipnitz; and three brothers, Michael Lipnitz, Christopher Lipnitz, and Jeffrey Lipnitz.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Brian Coffman; three sisters, Julia Cliett, Catherine Lipnitz, and Loretta Smith; and two brothers, Donald Lipnitz and Kenneth Lipnitz.

A memorial service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Miller & Van Essendelft Chapel, Edenton, NC.
