It has been a year - that does not seem possible. I can't count how many times I have thought about him during this past year. So many times I would have talked to him - about sports - about children - on special holidays...only some of the things we had in common. I am fortunate though to have these memories to cling to. His legacy lives on.

Dear family and friends of Jimmy, I will remember him as a man who always held everyone he met with a lot of respect. I think Respect was his middle name because I respected him as well.

To the family of Mr. James "Jimmy" Thomas
It was a pleasure to have Mr. Thomas as a resident at Stonewall Place Apartments. He was always very respectful and concerned about others. His family was his greatest joy. He was looking sharp in his white tux on Vanessa's wedding day and he was so excited with the birth of the new baby.
Mr. Thomas will be missed by both the staff and residents.
May the love and memories shared by your family and Mr. Jimmy bring a smile to your heart during this most difficult time.

Jimmy will be truly missed by all who knew him. Jimmy was good friends with my brother Arthur Fleming, AKA as Patches. I remember the Loving Union Hall days when Jimmy and James Brown were the dancing machines.
As we all know, Man started the dancing here on earth, but dancing was originated in the bible days. Now instead of Jimmy dancing for the artists, Jimmy will now be dancing for the Lord.
Jimmy, you will be missed. Family, he has gone to a better place and we all will see him again. He has made his transition from Earth to Glory. May God wrap his arms around each of you and cover you in the holy and precious blood of Jesus.
JIMMY REST IN PEACE.

Family of Red Jimmy
Red Jimmy was a friend to anyone, so that one would never be without that friend! He would visit the the sick carrying his nick-nack snacks,(no hungry folks around him) letting them know that they would get better, and out of the hospital soon, from Miss Piggy to Floyd Langhorne he never stopped! Now, everyone in the city of Richmond knows Red Jimmy is where the party at! You never needed a dancing partner, he was there Jimmy on the spot cannot stop dancing non-stop . . . he would go down to the floor, spin around, bring it back up and do the walk! Red Jimmy, made so many people happy and enjoyed living life, offering hope and sharing his love with those around. MEN DON'T COME BETTER! Family, thanks for sharing with the rest of us! Godspeed Red Jimmy! You are missed especially at these holidays.
Sincerely
Carol Pruitt

I have only known Jimmy for a short time as his home health nurse but he was one of my favorite patients. I found him to be funny, gentle, warm, enduring , a loving father and grandfather. He talked about all his family and friends with me. He loved all of you and I know how deeply he will be missed by all that knew him.
God bless Jimmy.

My sympathies goes out to Fee; Vanessa; Mann; Valerie and the rest of the family! Jimmy was a "COOL CAT" and I enjoyed talking to him. He's in a better place, where Lillie Mae is taking care of him!

"Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same." -

The above quote is so very appropriate for my feelings pertaining to Jimmy. Once he became a part of your life, he also captured a section of your heart. My sincere sympathy is extended to his family and to those that loved him as if he was a part of their family.
