NEWCOMB, Mrs. Hazel Hightower, 85, of Lawrenceville, Va., passed away peacefully November 29, 2008. She was the widow of Norman H. (Bonnie) Newcomb and is survived by four children, Linda N. Branson, Benny (Red) Newcomb, Edgar Newcomb and Norman Franklin Newcomb; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Brewer. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Shearin. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Lawrenceville. Memorials may be made to Brunswick Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 33, Lawrenceville, Virginia 23868.
