Virginia Slaughter Obituary

SLAUGHTER, Virginia Rodgers, of Glen Allen, Va., went to meet her sweet Jesus on November 29, 2008. She is survived by her four children, Robert Joseph Oxendine, Ronald Lee Oxendine, Lester Ray Slaughter and Jeanette Sue Dudley, all of Richmond, Va.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren from Richmond; one brother, Jesse E. Shifflett of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Ethel M. Shifflett of Dyke, Va., Mary S. Page of Richmond and Fannie S. Morris of Hampton. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Sue and Ray,
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope you know how much I love your mom. Also I so enjoyed the time I spent with her last year...her sense of humor always made me laugh. I will always value the friendship she and my mom had as well. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.
