Alberta Owens Obituary

OWENS, Alberta K., of Richmond, formerly of Hot Springs, Va., departed this life January 13, 2009, at age 87. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Owens in 1970. She is survived by two devoted daughters, Glendale R. Owens and Claudia V. Owens; two sisters, Bertha K. Sumlar of Washington, D.C., and Soddye K. Johnson of Waldorf, Md.; brother, Sidney S. King of Richmond, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Reatha G. Owens of Fayetteville, N.C., and Helen King of Covington, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and devoted relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 1 p.m. There will be a short viewing prior to the service at W. S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, 2700 North Ave. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.

Claudia, It is a hard thing to give up our parents but we know that your Mom is with our Heavenly Father and that you will see her in her new body one day. What a blessing we have. Love you.
