Jack Owens Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
Born in Liberty, SC, Mr. Owens was the son of the late Robert Lee and Maggie Howe Owens. He was a United States Army Veteran, earning the rank of Sergeant. After his time in the military, Mr. Owens became a self-employed carpenter. He was member of the American Legion Post 151, where he served as Post Commander for many years. Mr. Owens was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Owens is survived by his son: Jack McClellan "Mac" Owens, Jr.; daughters: Penny Owens Gray (Brandon) and Stephanie Owens Pruitt (Jason); brothers: Jimmy Owens (Pan) and Ellis Owens; grandchildren: Kurt Owens, Josilyn Vance, Taylor Pruitt, Tucker Gray, Amber Pruitt, Cody Owens, Owen Pruitt, Luke Gray, Kyle Owens, Danny Owens, and Heath Owens; and great-grandchild: Kason Owen Alexander.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his brothers: Preston Owens, Earl Owens, Charles Owens, Doug Owens, and Robert Lee Owens, Jr.; and sister: Jean Owens.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Davenport Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital at www.donate.shrinerschildrens.org.
The family is at their respective homes.
