HOWELL, Vyron A., 78, of Mechanicsville, passed away Friday, February 6, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Frances L. Howell; a daughter, Nancy Howell and husband, David Firman of Missouri; son, Jesse A. Howell and wife, Nancy of Charlottesville, Va.; three sisters, Vyrl Ann Shackleford, Betty Colleen Brown, and Dixie Thornton, all of Missouri. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday. Entombment will follow 3 p.m. at Dale Memorial Park Mausoluem.

Our hearts will be with you. My big brother taught me to trap, shoot, play checkers, croquet (a hundred gams many Sunday afternoons) & how to pronounce the letter "r" when it was vital that I learn!! I was his shadow as little sister. Our lives went different directions but our hearts remained close. Dixie and family
