I worked with Asa at Hecht's for several years. I had never sold shoes before and found myself in a strange new world at mid-life. Asa only worked part-time, but he sure could move the merchandise. I tried keeping up with him, but once he got rolling the floor was his. He was funny and quick with advice. I often thought that he might have enjoyed a creative-type job as his mind seemed to fly with ideas on occasion. I offer the family my heartfelt prayers with the hope that Asa's memory will cheer your present feelings of loss. I enjoyed knowing him, and respected his determination.
