Hazel Key Obituary

KEY, Hazel Crist, wife of deceased Professor Key, formerly of the University of Richmond, passed away March 4, 2009. While Past President of River Road Hills Garden Club and flower arrangement chairman for the Richmond Council of Garden Clubs, she lectured on "dried arrangements" and "Christmas wreaths". Mrs. Key was a graduate of Southern Virginia College for Women, in 1934, and received a B.A. degree from Mary Baldwin College in 1938. Mrs. Key attended the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, Va., where she also was an instructor at Jefferson School of Commerce. She was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Richmond Power Squadron and a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Key is survived by a daughter, Evie K. Mansfield of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Electra Mansfield; and a great-granddaughter, Selene Mansfield, both of Salt Lake City, Utah.
