I have been meaning to sign the guestbook many months ago, and time goes by so fast.
I would like to send my condolences to the family. I want to also express that when my mom passed in 2008, Bill Schmidt came up to me at the funeral home at the viewing and expressed how sorry he was for my mom's loss. He also expressed such great comments about my mom's/dad's neighborhood holiday parties, and how my mom went all out with such a great spread of different foods she'd prepared.
He did also express about his recent loss of his wife Ann. I could feel by his sharing of his loss, he was genuinely letting me know, loss can be hard but our loved ones are in a better place. This stands out in my mind about how concerned he was about my mental state by the loss of my mom and in turn we both spoke briefly and we had actually helped each other that day with each of us on losing a loved one. I'm sorry that we didn't get to talk longer because I wanted to thank him so much for making a day which was hard enough, be such a day that someone would care so much to express what they were feeling from their loss that he actually helped me.
So "Thank You Mr.Schmidt".
Losing a parent is hard, but what makes it even harder is that the memories that are good leave an everlasting impression to make us smile throughout our lifetime, and at times they are so good, that we cry.
I wouldn't have it any other way, and throughout time I'm sure you'll agree with me.
Once again..sorry for your loss. Your dad was a gentle man to talk to.

Bill was among the nicest people I have ever known. I have never talked with or seem him be other than pleasant. He was generous and helpful beyond anything that was expected. The picture is a great way for him to be remembered.
I will miss him and never forget him.
Bill, thanks for being in my life and I look forward to seeing you again in Heaven.

I will ALWAYS hold Bill's memory dear to me: he gave me my first job on one of his survey parties in the early 1970's. The surveying he taught me was a GREAT part of my expertise during my later career at VDOT, and I credit his patience and humor. I'm so glad that his picture shows him smiling - that is how I will ALWAYS remember him. What greater legacy can anyone leave for those of us who remain? I'll always hold the plumb bob steady for you, Bill.

Bob and I send out deepest sympathy to all of Bill's family. Bill was such a special guy. I've known him since I was in grade school. Bob and Bill had a special bond in friendship and he was so glad to have had the nice telephone conversation with Bill this summer.
I know Bill was so very proud of his two boys. He will be sorely missed by many.
Love,
Your aunt, Coralie

To the Schmidt family,
I enjoyed meeting and talking with Mr. Schmidt on many of his office visits to the County's Public Works department. We had many meaningful conversations and he loved to talk about Macie and cooking.
He will be truly missed by all. Rest In Peace Mr. Schmidt.

David, Allen & families, I was so saddened to hear of your fathers passing. He looked so good at Chrissy & John's wedding in August. It was good to visit with him. My love to all of you. Mary White (cousin)
