WARTHAN, Earl Rudolph, 85, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Davenport Warthan; brother, Richard Warthan; and sister, Mable Floyd. He is survived by two daughters, Earlyne Glenn and Debbie Gantt; four grandchildren, Myrchas Glenn Jr., Heather G. Lowe, Frances Glenn, Douglas Campbell; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Glenn, Catherine Lowe, Matthew Lowe; two sisters, Helen Hicks, Margaret Williams and other family and friends. He loved watching the Washington Redskins and Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and playing cards with family and friends. He was a Brickmason for 54 years and belonged to Bricklayers of Virginia Local #1. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Nelsen Funeral Home 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, Va. 23231. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Washington Memorial Park 6217 Memorial Dr. Sandston, Va. 23150. Earl was an inspiration in our Sunday School class at New Bridge. He will be sorely missed, but he is out of pain and with Jesus now. Prayers for you and all Earl's family.

We will miss uncle Earl.I remember as a kid Earl and Frances playing cards every friday night with the family.He had that loud voice and big hands that were as rough as sandpaper.He always had a smile and he was just fun to be around.He will be missed.

was such a special and wonderful man.
He was always such a joy to be with.
