Virginia Hawks McCONNELL

McCONNELL, Virginia Hawks, 89, of Richmond, passed away October 3, 2009. She was the widow of Albert F. McConnell. She is survived by her son, William F. "Bill" McConnell and his fianc‚e, Diane Huddleston; three grandchildren, William Bradley, Julia Dare, and Brent Wood McConnell; three close friends, Frank Stezier, George Mahler and Marie Barnette. Mrs. McConnell was an active, longtime member of Walmsley Boulevard United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees. She was a graduate of Goochland High School and a lifetime member of Woodman of the World. Her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Bliley's- Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Walmsley Boulevard United Methodist Church.
