I was deeply saddened to hear of Mark's passing. It stirred up memories of times when he helped me with my Physics homework and of exploring our neighborhood, and beyond, on our bicycles. I still carry a small, faint scar on my knee from a time I borrowed Mark's bike, sped down Ledgebrook Road, and wiped out trying to negotiate the left turn onto Meadowbank Avenue. My pride was hurt more than my knee and, thankfully, Mark's bike came out of it unscathed. Mark took it in stride and even let me try it again, although at a more reasonable speed.
It's been a number of decades since Mark and I last saw and spoke to each other, but I guess life is strange that way. It is still painful to know that someone who has had an impact on my life is now gone. It is even more tragic when he predeceases a parent.
My condolences to Frank Dublin, to Arthur and his family, and to all friends and relatives.
