William Rasmussen Obituary
William Tycho Rasmussen, 84, formerly of Lombard, IL and most recently residing in Bath Township, OH, passed away May 3, 2011. Born in Chicago, Bill graduated from Lane Technical High School before serving in the U.S. Navy during both World War II and the Korean War. Later, Bill went on to become an agent for the State Farm Insurance Companies in Villa Park for over 35 years. Bill, a lifetime member of the VFW, served as Commander of Post 2801, achieved professional recognition by being named a Silver Scroll Agent and receiving the Legion of Honor in his career and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed his summer and winter residences in Door County, WI and Hutchinson Island, FL for many years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, LaVerne Rasmussen, nee Sena; daughters, Donna Behlke, Diane Boenker and Lisa (Richard) Gromofsky; grandchildren, Frances, Andrew and Phillip Nelms, Samuel Boenker, John-Paul and Katherine Gromofsky; brother, Edwin (Mary Lou) Rasmussen; many other loving nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Memorial gathering will be held at the Hyatt Lodge, Oak Brook on Saturday, May 7, from 5 to 10 p.m. Friends and colleagues interested in attending, please call Andrew at 815-375-9032.
