Benjiman Butts Obituary
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday, First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, 122 N. E. 2nd. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ben was born May 27, 1946, in Artesia, N.M. to Woody and Peggy Butts. He was a 1964 graduate of Lubbock Monterey High School and attended South Plains College and Texas Tech University. Ben was the owner of Woody Butts, Inc., an Arlington company started in 1969, by Ben and his late father, Woody Butts.
Ben proudly served in the United States Army 11th Armored Cavalry and was awarded the Bronze Star during his tour during the Vietnam War. He was an avid golfer and a 15-year member of Great Southwest Golf Club.
Ben will be remembered for his unimpeachable integrity, world-class storytelling, and extensive knowledge of history. His love, generosity and humor with family and friends was extraordinary.
He loved spending vacation time at his Ruidoso home with the people he cherished. Ben was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grand Prairie.
Survivors: Wife, Sarah Butts of Grand Prairie; sons, J.W. Butts and Michael Butts, both of Grand Prairie; stepson, Jason Henry of Dallas.

I will always remember Mr.Butts' ease with words and the amazingly vivid,and colorful stories he told. I was especially touched by the story he told me about how he tracked down the hometown of a buddy from Vietnam who didn't make it home and how pleased he was by the fact that there was a park named in his buddy's honor. He had a wonderful heart, a true fighter til the end. Mrs. Butts and family, may you be comforted by the fact that he lead an incredibly highlighted life. Revelation 21:4 promises us that God will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. May God continue to carry you and comfort you during this difficult time.

We knew Ben and his Mother Peggy for several years, via our friends James and Georgia Biggs.
We had many good times fishing. Our love and prayers are with you.

We moved next door to Benny when he was 6 yrs old. Having no children at the time we adopted him and he has always been like a Son to us. We Loved Him and Will Miss Him......
