Eric C. Babcock

PRESTON – Eric C. Babcock, 53, of Route 2-A, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 13, 2015. He was born on July 22, 1961 in Norwich, Connecticut and was raised in Ledyard by his loving mother Shirley (Mattern) Pandora and his step-father Philip Pandora. Eric's outgoing personality quickly endeared him to everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and loved playing practical jokes, especially when it involved scaring someone. He was a kind, caring person who would often drop everything he was doing in order to go help someone who needed a hand. He was a devoted father to his children, Jonathan Babcock and wife Kelly, Brittany Babcock, Christopher Babcock, and Marisa Babcock. They meant the world to him. He was a hard worker, having worked alongside his fiancée Diane Majcher, operating T & C Greenhouses in Preston for the past ten years. He was extremely fond of his 1992 Lincoln Town Car and often joked about leaving each of his children one of tires off his car. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. What will be especially missed is his unique way of ending phone calls with those he loved with his famous, "I love you, 123". We love you Eric, 123! In addition to his mom, children and fiancée, he is survived by his grandchildren Natalie and Logan; sister Pamela Steward; and two brothers, Earl Babcock and Todd Babcock. He was predeceased by his brother Jeffrey Babcock and step-father Philip Pandora. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Rd, Uncasville. Burial will be at a later date. His family asks that you please make a donation to a favorite charity in his memory.
