I was saddened to hear about Royal's passing. I enjoyed hearing Neal and Royal both give opinions on various topics. Royal was often a good counterbalance to Neal's sometimes extreme views. They both respected each other and Royal will be sadly missed and his educated demeanor and deep thought will be greatly missed by not only radio listeners, but by Belinda , Neal and his station associates. God bless Royal and his family. He will not be forgotten . Doug Harned - a Knoxville , Tennessee , regular listener.

Mrs. Marshall and Family. I just learned of Royal's death and I am heart broken. The WSB family was like my family since they were in my home every day and night. I am so sorry for your loss - I feel like I've lost a true friend. I can remember listening to the rerun of the show and getting upset or giggling as I went off to sleepland. May God bless you and keep you.

As I sit here replaying some old clips featuring Royal, I'm struck again by a feeling of emptiness that I'll never hear anything new from him. He will be missed by millions of people, all across this country, but I'm sure even more so by his family. My heart goes out to all those who knew him personally, lived with him, loved him, and are now missing a very large piece of themselves. God bless Royal Marshall, his family, friends, and listeners. He is still sorely missed, and will be for a very long time to come.

I feel like I grew up with Royal. I'm a little older than him (48) but I remember when he came to the Neal Boortz show after graduating from UGA, I remember when he had his own show, i remember him playing the punch line, I remember when he got married and his little girl birthday is same as mine May 28th. His radio personality was awesome with Neal. I just feel like a little piece of me has left the planet...

WHILE DRIVING TO WORK EVERYDAY, I HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO THE NEAL BOORTZ SHOW FOR SEVERAL YEARS. UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN I RETIRED IN NOVEMBER, I HAVEN'T LISTENED SINCE. I JUST HAPPENED TO BE LISTENING TODAY, AND HEARD OF HIS PASSING. I WAS DEVASTATED. EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T KNOW HIM PERSONALLY, I LOVED HIS VOICE AND I WOULD LAUGH WHEN BOORTZ AND HIM WOULD POKE FUN AT EACH OTHER WITH THEIR GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND WIT. I AM WRITING THIS WITH TEARS RUNNING DOWN MY FACE, BECAUSE I WILL TRULY MISS HIM. IT JUST WON'T BE THE SAME. I WISH THE BEST FOR HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN. SINCERELY, DEB FROM ALPHARETTA

I was listening to the Boortz show the other morning, and found myself wondering why Royal wasn;t chuckling at something Boortz said, or better yet, why he wasn't saying something like "Come on, Neal..." then I remembered he's not with us anymore. God bless you, Royal. We sure miss you.

I attended Georgia with Royal and have fond memories of him there. He was one of those folks who was popular with everyone because he had such an outgoing, kind and laid-back personality. Never heard a bad word about him. In his professional life, he was the perfect counter-point to Neal on WSB; keeping him in check and holding his own. I was proud to count him among other successful Georgia alumni to make in the entertainment/media business. He made us UGA folk proud. I wish only the best to his wife and children as well as his WSB family as they try to move forward. Even though it will be difficult, the foundation that this man of faith laid for those he loved and cared for, hopefully, will make it a bit easier for the rest of us to follow. Rest in peace my friend. You are dearly loved and truly missed.

I had the pleasure of "meeting" Royal in heavy traffic on I-285 about seven years ago. Royal was in a maroon Hummer and asked if he could move in front of me in the slow-paced, bumper-to-bumper traffic. I gave him the signal to do so, not knowing who he was at the time. Then, as he merged in front of me, I noticed his personalized license plate. Then I knew it was Royal. I emailed him the next day, explaining I was a fan and I was the guy who let him merge into my lane on I-285. I asked for his autograph. A few days later, I recieved an autographed photo of Royal Marshall in the mail. I still have it today. Royal, rest in peace, man.

I recall a radio broadcast when Royal was trying to help a listener understand what heaven might be like. He admitted that all we know is what is here on earth and that is exactly why we have trouble understanding. He went on to say that Heaven is so much more than we can ever imagine on earth.
Wow, I knew then that Royal was a very smart and amazing person. He may or may not have ever read C. S. Lewis, the Brittish scholor who wrote on Christianity in many books, but Royal was giving us in a nutshell what Lewis said about heaven. Well, great minds think alike.
Of course we wish Royal were back on earth, but he is now in the presence of God. I imagine that he would broadcast that we can join him there.

The first time I heard Royal was on his talk show 'The Royal Treatment'in 2004.I live in Alabama and WSB could be picked up at night. He had a great, great sense of humor and always treated his guests with respect.
As I listened to him through the years, he would always calm down Neal Boortz, nicely and with humor as only he can.
I want to extend my sympathies to his wife, his daughters and the entire Marshall family-may God bless and keep them all.

Sometimes there is a time when the most talkative and loudest people in the room, can't find the words to say or even want to make a sound. This is one of those times. Many things will be said about Royal, but there are no words humanly possible that can put together how his passing has touched so many people. I got a second chance to chase a dream and Royal encouraged, trusted and educated me(a 38 yr old intern, at that time) and waited for me to write it all down. He told me that I wasn't too old, just old enough to get it right this time. This meant the world to me. He would chuckle when I told him I couldn't find work and people didn't believe he would take time to show me anything. He was a good person and never seemed to know how people respected and admired him and thought of him in the elite category. Humble, he was that.

For someone I never met or seen in person, I feel like I have lost a great friend. For some, He is the only Bible they will ever read." He not only walked the walk, he lived the walk. Loving God and his family, friends, and co-workers. The show will go on but Royal will be missed. Who will keep Boortz calmed down.

Just returned from Royals' home going celebration. What a great guy. To his mom: you must be a spectacular woman to have raised such a good man. To his wife: most women have never had one day with a man who adores his wife and children. You were blessed to have years of marriage with a man who clearly loved you and your children. To his family: God bless and be near you at this time. I was just a radio fan and he affected my life in a very positive way .

Turned on the radio Saturday afternoon and knew something had happened!!!! There was Clark, Scott, & Mark..I listened closer and was at a stand still, my heart was broken-so fast, too soon, without warning..I thought how we must enjoy and be thankful for everyday & stay close to loved ones. And yet Neal, Belinda & Christine have carried on.Neal has been fantastic. Portraying the love, the memories, truly celebrating Royal's life - carrying on as Royal would want, extending to the family and the children a reason to carry on. You-Annette, Amira, & Ava are in my prayers but I know God will bless you and guide you through the coming days.I am a long time listener-when my schedule permitted, to Boortz and the Royal Treatment. Keep the faith. I know Royal's Mother and other family members are so sad - God Bless You.
