Janet W. Galusha

GALUSHA, Janet W. Age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at her home, Sunrise of Wayland, with her family by her side. Jan was born in Poultney, Vermont on May 23, 1932, the daughter of the late Arthur E. & Isabelle (Reed) Williams. She grew up in East Poultney, Vermont and lived in Grafton, then Westborough for many years before moving to Wayland in 2011. Jan attended Poultney High School and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1952. She began her career as a dental hygienist working for Dr. Dale Montgomery in Burlington, VT and spent the last 18 years of her career working for Dr. Gregory Paskerian in Framingham, MA before she retired in January of 2000. Jan loved Vermont and spent a great deal of time there during the summer months visiting her sister and brother's families at Lake Saint Catherine. She was a Boston sports fan and enjoyed watching both the Red Sox and Patriots. Jan also enjoyed skiing, golf, sewing, reading a good book and flowers, but more than anything, she loved spending quality time with her friends. She also loved animals, especially her grandcat, Baxter. Jan leaves her son, Todd A. Galusha and his wife, Lesley Harries of Framingham, MA along with sister in-laws Carol Galusha, Alice Purdum-Flack, Judy Galusha and many nieces, nephews, and some very close friends that she considered family; she cherished the time spent with them. Jan was predeceased by her son Timothy A. Galusha, her sister, Marjorie Spaulding and brother, Arthur E. Williams. A celebration of Jan's life will be held at 11:30am on Monday, June 20, 2011 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland. Burial will take place at a later date in the Poultney Cemetery in Vermont.
