James Kenneth Roney, May 27, 2011, age 83, late of Homewood, formerly of Lowell, IN. Beloved husband of Joanne K. Mitchell Roney and the late Elizabeth Roney; dear father of Michael (Sandra) Roney, Kathleen (Michael) Bisting, Maureen (Thomas) Ferry, James (Jean) Roney, Timothy Roney, Mark (Judith) Roney and Brian (Lisa) Roney; step-father of Lisa (Linton) Heaven and Craig (Michelle) Mitchell; cherished grandfather of 28; and great-grandfather of eight; loving brother of Norman (Maria) Roney, Allen Roney, Lori and the late David Roney. Member of Post # 15 AMVETS, Cedar Lake Post # 261 A.L. and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Resting at the Tews Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Hwy., Homewood Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. Memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society, would be appreciated. 708-798-5300.
