Linda Jeffries Obituary

Linda K. Jeffries, 62, of DeKalb, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.

Born Nov. 7, 1948, in DeKalb, the daughter of Clarence C. "Ted" and Emma K. (Lofthouse) Burdick, she married James R. Jeffries Dec. 25, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Linda attended DeKalb High School and was the former owner of Page Street Café in Sycamore. She worked at Marion's Restaurant, Dot's Restaurant, and retired from DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in 2010, where she was employed as a cook.

She is survived by her husband, James; her daughters, Teresa (Brian) Casey of Las Vegas, Nev.; Candy Lewis of DeKalb; her step-daughters, Bobbi (David) Stoltz of Muscoda, Wis., Jammi (Kent) Strunk of Little Falls, Min.; her grandchildren, Brooke, Anthony, Monica, Nichole, Zachary, Jacob, Liberty, Nicholas, Spencer, Vincent, Hannah; her great-grandchildren, Julian, Daniel, Diego, and Sofia.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Jerry; and her parents.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Anderson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jon Hutchison of First United Methodist Church in DeKalb officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. until the time of services at Anderson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Linda K. Jeffries Memorial Fund, in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, IL 60115.
