Mr. Fluckey was the kindest and most generous teacher that I have ever known! No other teacher inspired such greatness in his students...
It was an honor to be among the select few to be a member of the Concert Choir and perform on the Singing Christmas tree! Not only for me but I know of several students that would not have been in and completed school if not for being in the choir!
We love you and we miss you! It is good to know that the angels have someone who can truly inspire THEIR voices!

Thank you Mr. Fluckey for the fun and inspiration that you always provided. You were the only reason that I wanted to go to school. I was in your French class and the tree in 1968 1969. Thank God for teachers like you. XX Sue Kinzbach 1969

In all the years I knew him I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone - except Republicans. And I'm not sure he was really unkind to them. He never yelled at anyone - except the concert choir if they were singing off key. And he only yelled with love in his heart. He also never yelled angrily at Irma James or me as we played bridge during lunch time.

Mr. Fluckey was a very special man and teacher. I was in his French classes, was an assistant to him for one year and sang on the Tree in 1966-67, as well as all 3 Alumni Reunions. He inspired me so much that I majored in French/Secondary Education and minored in Music. Whenever I became discouraged I thought of Mr. Fluckey and I would become encouraged to continue onward with my degree. He was always fair and honest and I am very saddened to hear of his passing.
Deepest sympathy to his family.

PRAISE BE TO GOD for creating a one of a kind man. We all adored Mr. Fluckey. He touched our hearts in such a way, words can't express. Our feelings can only be brought out through beautiful melodies. I felt loved and valued by Mr. Fluckey, even though I wasn't "STAR" material. Thank you for bringing out the best in me and all the other hundreds of lives you touched. May your family find peace and comfort through our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I was in the Singing Christmas Tree in 68/69 and to had Mr. Fluckey as my French teacher. Best of all I spoke with him on the phone last year at this time and we had a lovely conversation. I told him that I had a wonderful Mother and that my father was a very gentle man, just like him....and that some people go through life never meeting a gentle man that touches their life and leaves such a glowing handprint on their heart. I had 2, and I knew how very lucky I am. I think the music in heaven must sound lovlier than ever tonight. Imagine that gentle man directing them. My thoughts are with his family. You were blessed to have him in your life. And so was I.

Mr. Fluckey, as you were in life, you are still surrounded by love and admiration. You were one of the most special people that I ever known. Thank you for the opportunity to be on the Singing Christmas Tree, the Reunion Trees, and the Concert Choir. I learned so much in your Music Appreciation class, and being your assistant really helped to bring me out of my shell, which I'm sure you knew. I'm so grateful to you for all of your guidance and mentoring.
To Mr. Fluckey's family - my deepest sympathy to you in your loss. Please know that he's definitely one of Heaven's most beloved citizens.

It was a great honor to be part of the family of the Singing Christmas Tree, no matter what year you were on it you always felt special. I was on the tree the year we went to Washington DC, poor Mr. Fluckey with all of us teenagers trying to keep us all contained in one place and under control. But he managed and told us all to make him and all alumini proud. I think we did, he will be greatly missed by all. Marci (Stoumbaugh) Brauch class of 74

Mr. Fluckey was clearly one of the best teachers of Life at West High School, a good friend and mentor. He brought joy through his teaching and music, true life lessons. He brought generations together and taught them as well. He was not only an Icon at West High School, but in the West Denver Community. Whether we sang," On West Denver", are Christmas Carols, studied french are what not,
He gave us his life and love. He may glare across the piano are tap a pencil, and say lets not do that anymore shall we. Then smiled and loved us more. As he said, "There all my kids".
Peace be with him and his family
And to all the West High Cowboys, family!

Mr. Fluckey was one the finest human beings I have ever encountered. I met him in 1972 at West H.S. and have kept up with him through alumni tree reunions and such. I can tell you that every person who participated in the reunions was there for Mr. Fluckey. He was royalty in a kingdom known only by its loyal subjects.

Mr. Fluckey was the real deal. I haven't seen Mr. Fluckey since high school some 42 years ago. Since I have been living many miles from Denver for over thirty years, I have lost contact with many of my classmates. He inspired many of his students, including me.

Mr. Fluckey was a great teacher and since I had no father he helped me through high school and after wards; once I met my husband he knew I would be taken care of, he told me that I must move on that he had others who needed his help.
