Dear Carrie, although I don't know you and I only met you at Josh's visitation, I want to extend my deepest sympathy to you. I can't imagine what you are feeling right now. I am sure you feel a huge void in your life and what you had to look forward to with Josh. I will pray that God will help you through this loss as I am praying for Christy and Judd also. Bless you.

TO The Royer Family, and All Loved Ones of Josh.
There are no words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I can't imagine what it is like to lose a child, or a fiance, but I do know what it is like to lose a brother, a cousin and a friend, and I just want to say that you need to hold on to all the memories no matter how small. Talk about him and tell all the stories you can remember about him being funny, smart talented and loved. I realize that not many words are a comfort right now, but please know that you have people there for you that you never even thought gave you a second thought that really do care and will be there for all of you if you need anything at all. This may not be comforting right now, but time will be a healer to you, and prayer will make you all complete again. Josh will never really be gone from your hearts, and even though it is painful to not have him here in the flesh, just remember that he will always be a part of every one of you, and his spirit will be soaring in heaven, just waiting until he is re-united with all of you again. All of you take care, and don't hesitate to call if you need anything. You will all be in my prayers.

My prayers are with family and loved ones of Josh. I only knew Josh through school, we had several classes together. He was a great guy, his smile could light up the room, or should I say his grin. He will be greatly missed!

To Josh's family...my deepest, deepest, heart felt sympathies.
To Carrie: Carrie we all know your grief isn't that of a mother or a father but it is equally painful. You have lost the most important person in your life. Your entire future seems to have been pulled out from under you. Please know that I have been where you are right now. I have felt such grief that it hurt me physically. Time is a healer. I know it sounds like that healing time is a long ways away right now but don't lose your faith Carrie. One day you will know that God put you in a very special place in Josh's life. You were the one he loved. You will one day feel thankful for having been gifted with being that special person as well as having had the gift of such a special person in your life. Your grief will one day ease but your memories will remain vivid and be with you your entire life. You won't forget. You won't quit loving Josh but you will quit hurting. Hang on to your friends, your family. You will make it through.
My prayers are with you Carrie. With you and Josh's family. God bless you all.

To Josh's entire family...my deepest, deepest sympathy.
To Carrie: Carrie, you have a loss different then a mother's or father's loss but equally painful in it's own way. Your future has been cut off. I know you don't know where to start again. Please believe me when I tell you that you will heal and be able to go on. I have been where you are now. The pain will fade with time. I know that sounds like a long time from now but time is a healer. The pain will fade... The memories will last your whole life long. You will one day feel blessed that God picked you to be that special person in Josh's life. Keep your faith Carrie. God knows that you suffer. God bless you and help you through this difficult time.

The loss cannot be measured now,
The void cannot be filled--
And though someday the grief may fade,
His mark will live on still.
For even with my heavy heart,
I know that I've been blessed
To have been one who's life he touched
With warmth so infinite.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you now in your time of grief. Though I did not know Josh for a great length of time, I could tell right away he was an amazing soul. What a warm smile and welcoming spirit. I can only hope that knowing he touched so many, so warmly will help ease the pain you feel. God Bless

Christy, I don't know if you remember me, I babysat Josh when he was about 4 or 5 years old. Such a shy, quiet kid, it took so long for him to warm up to me. After we moved away, and through the years, I wondered how you and Josh were doing. I just thought of you a couple days ago, and when I read this news in the paper, it made my heart sick. I think I still have a photo from when he was little, and I see that smile in the photo here. I am so sorry.
