Barbara M. Royer

On Friday, July 11, 2025, Barbara (Mozdzierz) Royer of Coventry, CT, received an invitation from heaven that requested an immediate RSVP. Barb never made quick decisions, so she gave her typical answer and said, "Let me think about it", but they pressed on demanding a reply. Never wanting to miss an event (known as FOMO), she reluctantly replied yes. And within an hour (which was out of the ordinary for her to do something so quickly), she dropped her dime to let us know that she made it to heaven so that she could hurry up and start chatting with everyone she hadn't seen in a while. Barb was born in Hartford on June 20, 1944, to the late Mary (Szczepanik) and Walter Mozdzierz. She grew up in West Hartford and graduated from Conard High School in 1962. Prior to retirement, she worked for Allied Printing and Thames Printing. After that, she was vice-president and CFO (Chief Fun Officer) at Meet Me on Main restaurant. She was currently employed by the town of Tolland school system as a "lunch lady" which she enjoyed. Barb ("Grandma Barb") was known and loved by many of all ages. She enjoyed food, shopping, tootling around town, lunches with her high school classmates, bonfires with s'mores, and basically any excuse to get her out of the house to be with people. Her gift of gab and stories will be missed by her daughters Deb Comeau (Mark) and Leane Royer (partner Dan); granddaughter Valerie (partner Franklin); brother Walter Mozdzierz (Donna); beloved grandanimals Ellie Mae, Miller, Stella & Tater and numerous nieces, nephews and a whole flock of family and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Carol Brody, as well as her beloved pets. Just as Barb wanted, there will be no sad services. She wanted a big party, so that is what she will get on August 2nd. Please contact Deb, Leane or Walter for details.
