Hello,
We apologize for being so late in expressing our deepest condolences to you and your family. We want you to know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this holiday season and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Justin Allan Rollins US Army Specialist.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families, friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,

It has truly been my honor to also sign Justin's guest book. I can't imagine your loss, but can only say what triumph to have a son who has so many people influenced and proud of him. He served his country, my country and all of Us in this great country. One day you shall see him again. And would like you to introduce me to him when it's our time to join him.

Dear Rollins family,
We are also a gold star family and reading the story of Hero today has brought some comfort. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I know how it never goes away but does get easier with time. There will always be those days where you will miss your loved one and you just have to sit down and cry. I have realized it's okay to just cry and move on. I can't imagine the pain of losing your child even though I understand the pain of losing a loved one. May God cast down a comforting light upon you and give you peace. You truly are an amazing family. Thank you for raising such a courageous son and fighting for Hero. Let Hero comfort you as he did me. If there is anything you need don't hesitate to reach out to us. Gold star families have to stick together. I have included my email for you. God bless you.

To my beloved son,
We miss you more with each passing day. It is so hard to believe that it has been 5 years! So, it has been almost 6 years since I hugged you good-bye at the airport. I remember joking with Brittney that day that we wanted to grab you and go to Canada. I know you would never do that, you were too brave my son. You would love your little nephew Aaron Justin! He is adorable, and when everything else in the world is wrong, he can make it right! He has helped to lighten up our world. Our lives have been changed forever without your beautiful face, those convincing eyes, beautiful smile, and your wonderful sense of humor! Your zest for life was contagious. I miss you more with every passing day! Thank you so much for the signs you send us that you are okay. One day, we will be together again! Until then, I will try to live my life here on earth and make you proud!
With all my love forever,

Dear Rollins Family,
I too saw the 20/20 sotry about Hero and Justin and shed a few tears myself but was more than amazed at that photo of Hero standing in that amazing beam of sunlight. Have you ever thought of creating a Facebook page for Hero? I'm sure many people would love to know how he is doing and if there have been any other instances when something occured that made you feel Justin was near. I just think it's an fabulous story.
I am so sorry for your loss but in Hero I am sure you have with you that little bit of joy that is still attached to her that Justin felt. She made his last days a little happier. God Bless you all.

Dear Rollins Family,
I saw the 20/20 story last Friday, and I shed more than a few tears. I share your loss of a precious son (SFC Daniel Crabtree)so I certainly understand your joy of being able to get Justin's puppy home to raise. My heart breaks for your family and Justin's fiancee. I struggle with Dan's loss every day although I refuse to let it cripple me. I know our fallen soldiers are in God's army now, and we will see them again. God Bless You All during this holiday season.

After reading Justin's legacy story, I am certain Jesus needed him in Heaven to rescue more puppies. I am sorry for your loss of your handsome son; your Hero and now your guardian angel. His puppy, "Hero" will always remember Justin's kind words, and touch and tender kisses. May God continue to bless you all. One day, your reunion in Heaven will answer all the questions you have regarding God's mysterious ways.

I'm humbled and enlightened by how I've watched your family come to an understanding of how to continue living and loving since your departure 4 years. The Rollins are an amazing family- I know that at the center of that is the strength of a soldier. Regardless of how he continues to live on in the lives of his parents and brother- Justin will never be forgotten. Many hugs, and lots of love to all of you.

I listened to the song "Angel Flight" by Radney Foster for about the millionth time today, and as it has every time it reminded me of Justin, and a fellow Soldier Matt who died after my deployment. It amazes me how something can bring back a memory like this and still bring a smile to my face and a tear in my eye. Justin always had a way of making people laugh. Take care Rhonda and Skip, I wish you the best.

I was just recently out in Dc, and I had to go visit our NH boys that are in Arlington while I was down there. It was an honor to be able to visit with Justin in Arlington and be able to pay respects to one of NH's bravest.
Visiting Justin was even more special because he, like my brother, is a fallen paratrooper. Im glad that I was able to spend time at his site. From one gold star family to another, your son truely is an American Hero.

Justin it seems unbelievable to me that I have not seen my special son for two years and seven months. I hope you know how special you were to your father and I, Jon, Brittney and all your friends. You really lightened up every room you walked into and every person you met. You were so brave, especially since you volunteered to go with your men. You had been chosen to be a Recruiter....I was so happy to know you would be safe for three years in Morristown, NJ. But not you, you would not let your men down, instead asking to be a Recruiter on your return from your deployment in Iraq. You did what was in your heart and for that I am proud. God I miss you, I love you forever and ever....Peace and Love,

You will never be forgotten. I will remember you as long as I live. Though we never met you are special to my soul because you died with my son, Spc. Ryan Bell.
Your mom has helped me so much during this past year. She knows how it feels to lose a Beloved son to a roadside bomb far away in Samarra, Iraq. She knows all about the shock of what happened March 5, 2007.
We are all doing the very best we can here on earth. It is still very painful for me. I am still in grief therapy.
I will miss the Samarra Seven Heroes, until we meet in Heaven and beyond.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

To Justin's family,
I am SSG Justin 'Dutch' Estes' mom. I, too, know the pain and heartache you are experiencing first hand. As I read about each young man killed that day, each one of them seemed to have the same dynamic personality - they could light up a room with their smile. I know how true that was of 'Dutch'. I pray every day that God will bless each and every one of you and that the memories of our fine soldiers will never fade. I will never forget all our sons, who sacrificed themselves that day. Heaven is truly a better place with them in it, but we will forever miss them here with us.

I worked with Justin at Butson's in Newport in high school. He really was such a great person, and I was deeply saddened to hear that he had lost his life in Iraq. It really was true, everything that was said about him, about him being such a good person.
I remember in high school when he asked me to dye his hair - I lived across the street from his friend Kirt. While we were waiting for the dye to set, we played croquet - man style... you had to hit it off the side of the house, around the tree, and into a hole in the ground.
I remember one time at Butson's, he sort of half way pulled the fire alarm, so that it went off in the store - but it didn't call the fire department or anything. When we all heard the noise, we turned and looked at him, and he just sort of stood there and said "What?" :)
I'm so glad that I have these memories. I didn't not know him very well, but I'm glad that I had the pleasure of knowing him. Even though he is gone, it is somewhat of a comfort to know that he died for a cause that he truly believed in. I am very proud of all of his accomplishments, and I am honored to say that I knew him. I am also very grateful for his services in the United States Military.
My condolences to the family and friends of Justin. He will truly be missed.

A SOUL TAKES FLIGHT
WE WATCHED YOU GROW
FROM A BOY TO A MAN.
NEVER SUSPECTING AT ALL
GOD NEEDED YOU FOR HIS PLAN.
AS WE STAND HERE NOW GREETING EVERYONE,
THEY'RE SAYING KIND THINGS ABOUT
YOU OUR GRANDSON ,OUR BROTHER
OUR FRIEND, OUR SON .
GOD GAVE THIS MISSION ALOT OF THOUGHT,
FOR ONLY AN ANGEL
WITH LARGE WINGS WOULD DO.
TO PROTECT AND CARRY
HIS CHILDREN TO HIM,
THE SOLDIER HE PICKED WAS YOU .
OUR VOID IS BIG
WE HAVE HEAVY HEARTS,
BUT WE KNOW THAT TRULY
WE ARE NEVER APART.
WE FEEL YOUR PRESENCE AND MOSTLY YOUR LOVE,
AS YOU FLY PAST US BRIEFLY
WITH ANOTHER CHILD FOR ABOVE.
May the words of my poem help to console and give you peace within! Sincerly and Respecfully
submitted.

When I'm Gone
When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile,
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned;
Forget unkind words I have spoken;
Remember some good I have done.
Forget that I ever had heartache
And remember I've had loads of fun.
Forget that I've stumbled and blundered
And sometimes fell by the way.
Remember I have fought some hard battles
And won, ere the close of the day.
Then forget to grieve for my going,
I would not have you sad for a day,
But in summer just gather some flowers
And remember the place where I lay,
And come in the shade of evening
When the sun paints the sky in the west
Stand for a few moments beside me
And remember only my best.
Your family is in our prayers;

Soldiers soldier! It's what they do until they can't do it anymore. Some retire after many years of service, others retire when their service is complete and God reaches out His hand and takes them. Thank you for your full and complete service.

It is with deep sadness that I am forced to honor the memory of another fallen Warrior. I ask the family and friends of Spc. Justin Rollins to accept the offer of my most sincere and heart felt condolences. I hope that you know that your loss is shared by a grateful American. Most of whom you have not met and in all probability will never meet. Our nation sincerely appreciates the sacrifices of your patriot.
Freedom is not free; it is paid for by our heroes!
I know the pain parents feel when they loose a child. I lost a son 19 years ago. It is a pain that defies description. It is a pain that never goes away. It is a pain that will never end. It is a pain that is all consuming. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
May God Bless and keep you today, tomorrow and forever!
Rest in Peace Brave Warrior; you did your duty with great honor, distinction and in the highest Airborne Tradition.

I am an Airborne trooper! A PARATROOPER!
I jump by parachute from any plane in flight. I volunteered to do it, knowing well the hazards of my choice.
I serve in a mighty Airborne Force--famed for deeds in war--renowned for readiness in peace. It is my pledge to uphold its honor and prestige in all I am--in all I do.
I am an elite trooper--a sky trooper--a shock trooper--a spearhead trooper. I blaze the way to far-flung goals--behind, before, above the foe's front line.
I know that I may have to fight without support for days on end. Therefore, I keep mind and body always fit to do my part in any Airborne task. I am self-reliant and unafraid. I shoot true, and march fast and far. I fight hard and excel in every art and artifice of war.
I never fail a fellow trooper. I cherish as a sacred trust the lives of men with whom I serve. Leaders have my fullest loyalty, and those I lead never find me lacking.
I have pride in the Airborne! I never let it down!
Justin you will never be forgotten. Though I never met you, as a fellow division trooper there will always be a bond.
PARATROOPERS NEVER DIE...THEY JUST SLIP AWAY.

My Deepest and most heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Spc. Justin A Rollins.
The price this Brave Young Soldier and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.
There is so much thanks to be given, to these young heroes, for their Courage, Dedication and Service.
May Justin rest safely in God's Care and may God's Loving Peace and Comfort be with the Rollins family.
I am the sister of such a young hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago.
"Wait on the Lord, be of good courage
and He shall strengthen your heart"
