Passed away May 26, 2011. Jimmy was born on April 27, 1951 in Alma, MI, a son of Dale Keith and Norma Jean (Nietzel) McConnell and had lived in the Plainwell area for many years. He served his country in the United States Army from 1969 until 1971. A very large part of his life was working for Checker Motors for 38 years, until they closed the plant. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents;

I worked with Jimmy for 35 years I am very sorry for your loss. He always made time to talk to you and had many good stories to tell.To soon to young.......he was such a good guy!!!

I will miss all the stories Jim used to tell me and about all his projects he was working on. I worked with Jim at Checker and he was fun to be around. I will miss him.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working with Jimmy. He was always happy, telling jokes, & he loved to laugh. He was always changing his clothes at work too... I think he just liked to be clean. (: He will be missed.
