Carlton Womack Obituary

CARLTON WOMACK Master Sargent, Retired Carlton Raymond Womack, 69, a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sargent, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 10, 2011. He was born May 29, 1942 in Little Rock, Ark., and was a 27-tyear resident of Nevada. He married his beloved Lou Womack July 20, 1985 and was completely devoted to her until her death in April of this year. Mr. Womack was highly decorated when he was honorably retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sargent in 1990. He served in Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. He retired from Arizona Charlie's as a security officer in August 2011 after 20 years of service. He took great pride in his country, family and work. He passed quietly with his family surrounding him at Nathan Adelson Hospice after a long illness. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Womack; and his father, James Carson Womack. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon R. (Marc) Shaffer; granddaughters, Shanna Norvell and Shayna E. Guthrie; grandsons, Paul Shaffer and Taylor G. Guthrie; brother, Tommy G. (Beth) Womack; and nephew, Nathan Womack, all of Nashville, Tenn.; step-son, Darren Auxier; step-daughter, Stacey Auxier; and granddaughter, Shaniya Auxier, all of Las Vegas; mother, Lorene V. Womack; brother, Jerry (Patricia) Womack; nephews, Bradley Womack, Christopher Holeman and Brandon Holeman; niece, Eva Beth (Jon) Hall; great-nephew, Connor Hall; sister, Rhena Beth (Rick) Holeman, all of Madisonville, Ky. Services will be held 8:40 a.m., Tuesady, Oct. 18 at Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Contributions may be made at www.veteransfamilyfund.org
