I and my family were deeply saddend to hear Gene has left us for awhile. We all looked forward so much to having him visit us in Alaska every summer. He was so much fun and such a caring guy. He always had words of wisdom for Alice's tea shop and the girls in their every day lives. Every time my brother and I look at the cabins he helped us build or start the generator he donated to us at Excursion Inlet I'll think of him. I'm sure God will take care of such a gentle spiritual man. We plan on seeing you there Gene. From a fellow Methodist and friend. Mickey Hadsel, Alice, Stephanie and Kristen. Juneau Alaska

Yea, Gene called himself my second dad. He acted like it too. What a great guy. My neighbor for 10 years, a friend for 27 years. He always told it like it was. He loved his wife and boys. Yea, he could whip any of us at raising money. I have so many fond memories of time we spent together and the times he would just check in with me to see how things were going. Ann, Shannon, Brennen, I hope you find your strength in God in knowing you will be re-united with Gene. Ron Nole

Gene was like a Brother and a dear Friend...Unless you had the privilege of really getting to know Gene you would never know the depth of this fine fellow. He was bright and had many talents, he even out fished me once in a while. Gene and I had a great deal of fun working on Ducks unlimited together although it bothered me a little, when he did a better job at making money for the organization then I, as Dinner Chairman. Like I said he was talented. Gene was also very generous in helping with our Alaska project at Excursion Inlet near Glacier Bay Alaska. Gene I loved you man you will surly be missed by the Hadsel Brothers. May God be with you Ann, Shannon and Brennen, Wayne Hadsel
